As if the iPad wasn't enough for Maclovers, rumours are abound of a Macbook Pro with equipped with Intel's Core i7chip.

Wired reports that visitors to MacRumors.com will have seen Geekbench benchmark results for a Macbook Pro armed with Intel's latest 2.66GHz mobile processor.

Some scepticism is warranted though, as Wired points out, Apple employees aren't renowned for posting tests in public.

But  Apple do typically upgrade their MacBook Pro family every six or seven months and the last refresh was in July 2009, so it does make sense that a Core i7 machine could soon be here.

Nexus One's days as top Android phone could be numbered if an early glimpse of the new HTC Incredible is anything to go by.

Pocketnow has got its hands on leaked photos of the upcoming model along with news that it will run HTC's Sense interface over Android 2.1.

The Incredible will apparenly be powered with a Snapdragon processor with 256MB of RAM and has a 3.5-3.7" OLED screen with WGVA resolution.

There's also likely to be a 5MP camera and LED flash.

Like the Nexus One it appears to lack a physical keyboard but it's stylistically different with a flat black face and a layered back side.

The person who originally leaked specs of the Incredible believes it become the Taiwanese company's flagship model.

Although there's no UK release date it will be offered on the Verizon network in the States.

'Babel fish' simultaneous language translation on phones could be here very soon according to Google.

The search giant already offers a online text translator and  voice recognition software but combining the two by translating languages over a phone would be a potentially mind-boggling historic advance.

Think the Babel Fish in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and the need never to learn foreign languages.

The feature could also become a major selling point for the Android mobile phone operating system.

Speaking to the Times, Franz Och, Google's head of translation services, said:

"We think speech-to-speech translation should be possible and work reasonably well in a few years' time.

Clearly, for it to work smoothly, you need a combination of high-accuracy machine translation and high-accuracy voice recognition, and that's what we're working on.

If you look at the progress in machine translation and corresponding advances in voice recognition, there has been huge progress recently."

He added that, just as the Google search engine learns user patterns, the next generation of phones could start to learn voice patterns, thereby making existing problems concerning pitch and accents largely irrelevant.

Facebook is by far the most popular site for mobile phone web users in the UK, according to a list of top 10 mobile sites released by GSMA Mobile Media Metrics.

The social networking site had five million unique users in December among the quarter of Britons - 16 million people -  who accessed the internet from mobiles.

Google's family of sites had the second most unique visitors with 4.5 million.

In terms of page views, Facebook was even further ahead, with 2.6bn page views - almost a third of the 6.7bn total.

And nearly half of the total minutes spent online in December was spent at Facebook Mobile  - 2.2bn minutes out of 4.8bn. Google was a distant second with 400 minutes.

Behind Facebook and Google, the sites of the mobile phone operators, O2 owner's Telefonica, Orange and Vodafone, were in spots 3 to 5.

Microsoft and Yahoo at six and eight while the BBC site came in at seventh. Apple and Nokia rounded off the top 10 most visited sites at number 9 and 10.

GSMA Mobile Media Reports figures are based on irreversibly anonymised mobile Internet usage data from all five UK mobile operators, collected with consent from a representative sample of mobile users.

In addition, Wi-Fi traffic, not seen in the mobile network traffic, is captured in the server-side logs of media owners and ad networks.

Sanyo has announced three new Dual Cameras to its Xacti stable, each offering 1080i HD video, up to 14-megapixel stills, and, perhaps more importantly, a very friendly pricetag.

The range, which peaked a couple of years ago with the the pistol grip Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD2000, has hit back with two new models of the same design, the CG20 and the CG100, each serving up a super-slim pocket-friendly chassis.

- Group test: Pisol grip camcorders

Both cameras offer 1080i (1920 x 1080) high definition video, up to 2TB of memory on an SDXC card, a mini-HDMI port and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. The CG100 offers higher resolution stills images at 14.4-megapixels compared to the 10-megapixels served up on the cheaper CG20 model. The CG100 also offers a 12x Double Range Zoom compared to the 5x Optical available on its little brother.

The final member of the trio is the Xacti VPC-GH1, which offers the same specs as the higher-end pistol grip model, including compatability with Eye-Fi-SD cards for wireless file transfer. All three cams have face-chasing technology.

Sanyo's Dual Cameras became hugely popular due to the innovative designs and ease of use. Switching between high quality video and still is an absolute doddle, and the thumb-controlled shooting panel can, in some cases, offer greater control over zooms.

All three cameras are available in March. The GH1 and CG100 will both retail at a very reasonable £229, while the budget pistol grip CG20 will be £179.

Motorola hasn’t had it easy of late, in spite of the success of the Motorola Milestone in Europe and the Motorola Droid in the US.

However, in a move to dispel potential criticism over past failures, Moto launched a new QWERTY slider – the Devour – during the third quarter of the Super Bowl.

Helped along by starring Megan Fox in a bath, the trailer has been creating waves online already. Check it out for yourself below:

More details of Windows Mobile 7 has surfaced as Microsoft prepares to talk up its much-anticipated mobile OS at Mobile World Congress later this month.

The guys at MobileTechWorld appear to have got their hands on some WinMo 7 specs which includes talk that the browsing experience is currently "better/faster" than the iPhone 3G and that Microsoft is "aiming towards" the 3GS. While that all sounds impressive, we fully expect an iPhone 4 to be on the horizon by the time Windows Mobile 7 hits the streets.

PPCGeeks believes they have come across similar WinMo 7 details which they describe as "truly amazing information" regarding the mobile OS update.

It seems while we probably won't see a Zune phone, Windows Mobile 7 is likely to sport an interface "very similar" to the Zune HD interface, and will feature a UI, codenamed METRO that has been described as "very clean, "soulful" and "alive."

Not so good news perhaps is that the OS does not appear to support multitasking, which means applications will be paused in the background. There is no sign of Flash support, or NETCF backwards compatibility with older applications, however there are "high hopes" of adding the latter to WinMo 7 eventually.

There looks like there will be room for Xbox integration with the ability to purchase games, Zune integration and a try before you buy setup in Marketplace.

While there is likely to be plenty of chat about WinMo 7 at MWC 2010, chances of any hardware wieding the OS looks slim. PPC Geeks believes that Microsoft will instead have its first Windows Mobile 7 handset ready for September this year.

Apple has reportedly escalated its recent tit-for-tat battle with Google by banning the word Android from applications on the App Store.

Over-zealous App Store moderators are apparently under instructions to remove any apps that even mention the rival Android operating system in the product description, unless the offending words are promptly withdrawn.

- Google baits Apple with concept tablet

This means that if an application has been particularly successful on the Android Market, it is not able to advertise that fact in its Apple profile with out risk of censure.

That seems a little mean-spirited to us. Surely if folks are shopping on the App Store, then they have an iPod touch or an iPhone anyway, and a good review from another platform is more likely to inspire a purchase? Apparently common sense has gone out of the window when it comes to relations between these two long-time allies.

Meanwhile Apple has also warned app developers not to develop GPS-based apps for the purpose of selling location-aware advertising. In a post on the company's developers' site, Apple says that such apps will not graduate past the approval process.
